§ Mr. Corbettasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science for what reason the city of Birmingham was unable to complete its 1982 school meals census return; and whether he will now take steps to require it to do so.
§ Mr. DunnSchool clerical staff were involved in industrial action during the period when LEAs were asked to complete the October 1982 returns and no count could therefore be made. As the information for the relevant period was not collected no purpose would be served in requiring the authority to submit a return. A return was made by Birmingham in respect of October 1983.
