asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the cost of the police operation in Scotland on Monday 19 March in the action against the mineworkers' flying pickets.

The estimated cost of police operations in Scotland in connection will all picketing there by the National Union of Mineworkers on Monday 19 March is about £8,000.

Although police officers were on duty in relation to picketing on Monday 19 March, none were deployed specifically against flying pickets.
