HC Deb 22 March 1984 vol 56 c550W
Dr. Godman

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he had discussions with Caledonian-MacBrayne before it decided to place an order for a passenger ferry with Cochrane's of Selby; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ancram

While this was a decision for Caledonian MacBrayne itself to take, I was kept informed. I can understand the hon. Member's disappointment that the order, which was the subject of competitive tendering has not gone to a Scottish yard.
