In relation to which colonies and dependent territories they have declared a 200-mile fishery zone, and in relation to which they have not, and what are the grounds on which such zones are, or are not, declared.
§ The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Young)The following dependent territories have established 200-mile fishing zones:
- Anguilla
- Bermuda
- British Virgin Islands
- Cayman Islands
- Montserrat
- Pitcairn, Ducie, Henderson and Oeno Islands
- St. Helena and Dependencies
- Turks and Caicos Islands
The following dependent territories have not done so:
- British Antarctic Territory
- British Indian Ocean Territory
- Falkland Islands
- Falkland Islands Dependencies
- Gibraltar
- Hong Kong
In considering the extension of fishing limits to 200 miles by dependent territories, we have to take into account all the factors relevant to each case such as the wishes of the inhabitants and geographical and political considerations.
