§ 25. Mr. Loydenasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much police time has been spent in policing demonstrations against hare coursing in the last 12 months.
§ Mr. HurdIt would cost a disproportionate amount to ask every chief officer of police in England and Wales to provide an answer. The chief constable of Lancashire tells me that officers of his force worked 1,132 hours overtime in policing the Waterloo Cup hare coursing trials at Altcar on 20 to 23 February inclusive, during which there were demonstrations.
