HC Deb 15 March 1984 vol 56 c212W
Q72. Mr. Greenway

asked the Prime Minister if she will propose legislation to ensure that some 1662 prayer book services are available in all Church of England churches where a specified demand exists; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

No. It would be inappropriate for the Government to seek to change the arrangements approved by Parliament in the Church of England (Worship and Doctrine) Measure 1974 under which the forms of service to be used are agreed jointly by the incumbent and the parochial church council elected by the parishioners and regular worshippers.
