HC Deb 09 March 1984 vol 55 c745W
Mr. Hannam

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many voluntary organisations responded to the Social Security Advisory Committee's proposals for a partial incapacity benefit; and what was the view held by them.

Mr. Newton

I understand that to date 21 letters have been received by the Social Security Advisory Committee commenting on its suggestions for a partial incapacity benefit. I understand that the representations are generally in favour of a benefit to assist disabled workers, but they express no clear preference for either of the committe's suggestions.
