HC Deb 14 June 1984 vol 61 c548W
Mr. Hannam

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has received any representations on the operation of the Building (Prescribed Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1983, in relation to the exemption from building control fees of work for the benefit of disabled persons; and if he is satisfied with the way in which this exemption is operating.

Sir George Young

The new fees regulations came into operation on 19 December 1983. The Department has received no representations of general principle, and very few routine inquiries, on the working of the new regulation to exempt from fees works carried out to dwellings and public buildings for the benefit of disabled people. I see no reason to be dissatisfied with the operation thus far of the new exemption.
