Mr. Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he now expects to activate the provisions of the Tenants' Rights Etc. (Scotland) Amendment Act 1984, which will provide improved discounts for longstanding tenants who wish to buy their homes.

The Tenants' Rights Etc. (Scotland) Amendment Act received Royal Assent on 24 May 1984. In accordance with section 9(2) of the Act, the provisions in the Act will come into force on 24 July 1984.
