HC Deb 12 June 1984 vol 61 cc448-9W
50. Mr. Couchman

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what arrangements are being made to obtain submissions to the social security reviews from interested organisations and individuals.

Dr. Boyson

Short notes were published by each review team on 16 May when copies were placed in the Vote Office. The notes set out the arrangements for taking evidence and the major issues on which views are sought. Copies have been sent direct to a large number of organisations and representatives with an invitation to submit evidence. Advertisements have appeared in the press inviting views more generally and advising members of the public where to apply for copies of the notes and to send evidence. The leaders of the reviews will be deciding on arrangements for hearing oral evidence.
