HC Deb 11 June 1984 vol 61 cc374-5W
Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the total amount of subsidised exports from the European Economic Community to the rest of the world of wheat, barley, beef, sugar, butter, flour, and wine, respectively, in the most recent annual period for which figures are available and for each of the previous five years; and if he will publish a separate table of comparable figures in respect of such exports to the Comecon bloc including the Soviet Union.

Mr. MacGregor

Information relating to the volume of exports of these commodities to Comecon countries is shown in the following table. Full information for 1983 is not yet readily available. I remind my hon. Friend that these figures represent total exports, some of which may not have received export refunds. My reply of 1 November 1983, at columns 343–44, contained similar figures for the European Community's exports to third countries.
