§ Mr. Galeasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give a breakdown, by profession and qualification, of the members of the agriculture working party on the revised potato marketing scheme; and how many members of the working party are currently and actively engaged in potato production.
§ Mr. Jopling[pursuant to his reply, 24 May 1984, c. 549]: In carrying out the review of the potato support arrangements, the views of organisations representing potato growers and users were taken into account. The organisations representing growers' interests included the farmers unions, the Potato Marketing Board, the Federation of Agricultural Co-operatives, the Processed Vegetable Growers Association and the Potato Growers Action Group. The decision on which individuals should represent the views of the organisations consulted was a matter for decision by the organisations themselves.
