HC Deb 04 June 1984 vol 61 c80W
Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many miles of motorway there are in Scotland; and what is the current mileage under repair.

Mr. Ancram

There are 147 miles of motorway in Scotland, including 15 miles of local authority motorway in Strathclyde region. In 1984–85 structural repairs are being carried out to 13 miles of motorway and 5 miles of hard shoulder falling within the responsibility of my right hon. Friend. Information on repairs to local authority motorways is not held centrally.
