HC Deb 04 June 1984 vol 61 c58W
Mr. Ron Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Wales (1) what measures are available in 1984–85 for dealing with the problem of asbestos in National Health Service hospitals in Wales;

(2) how many projects he expects to be undertaken in National Health Service hospitals in Wales during 1984–85 to deal with problems caused by asbestos.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

These are matters for individual health authorities to determine within the resources made available to them. Guidance on dealing with problems of asbestos has been issued by the Welsh Office.

Mr. Ron Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Wales (1) if he will list those hospitals in Wales where untreated problems associated with asbestos are known, those where problems are known not to exist and those where no such information is available;

(2) if he will list the hospitals in Wales where remedial work has been undertaken, since 1980, to deal with problems caused by asbestos; and if he will state the cost of each such scheme.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

This information is not held centrally.
