§ Sir Keith JosephThe Weed Research Organisation is an institute of the Agricultural and Food Research Council, which receives an annual grant-in-aid from the Department's science budget. As to the council's plans for the institutes' future, I refer the hon. member to the answer given on 23 January to the hon. Member for Linlithgow (Mr. Dalyell), at column 410. Over the past six months the Department has received some 113 written representations relating in whole or in part to the future of the institute.
