Mr. Michael Brown

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food which English port has, over the last few years, benefited most from Community funds for the construction and modernisation of fishing vessels; and what has been the total for this port and for the United Kingdom as a whole.

Since September 1981 the port of Grimsby has received more than any other; £602,500 out of a total paid for vessels based in English ports of £2.04 million.
