§ Mr. Peter ReesBusiness investment is on a strongly rising trend with an increase of over 10 per cent. in the six months to March 1984 compared with the corresponding period a year earlier. Investment by service industries is at an all-time high. The Department of Trade and Industry's latest investment intentions survey indicates an increase of over 9 per cent. in 1984 with a further, though smaller, increase in 1985.
