§ 47. Mr. Burtasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what progress has been made in the introduction of the single administrative document to simplify customs procedures at European Economic Community border crossings.
§ Mr. HayhoeAgreement on the maximum number of items of specified data which can be required by member states at import or export was reached by the Council of Ministers in November 1983. Discussions are continuing at official level in Brussels on the basic regulation for introducing the single administrative document and on the design of the document itself. Considerable progress has been made and it should be possible to finalise this work by the end of 1984. It will then be possible for the Community to decide on a timetable for implementation.
