§ Mr. Jannerasked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) how many and what percentage of employees in each department, section shifts, job category and other unit within his Department are male married, male unmarried, female married and female unmarried, respectively;
(2) whether he will provide a formal analysis by sex, grade and payment within each unit in his Department.
§ Mr. GummerIt would not be practicable to provide such detailed information concerning the staff of over 57,000 in the Department of Employment group who are employed in over 300 grades in some 2,000 offices in all parts of Great Britain.
§ Mr. Jannerasked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) whether his current records show whether members of one sex (a) do not apply for promotion in his Department or that fewer apply than might be expected (b) are recruited, promoted or appointed in a significantly lower proportion than their rate of application or (c) are concentrated in certain jobs, sections or departments;
(2) when he last carried out an analysis of information required for sex monitoring; and when he proposed that the same will be updated.
