HC Deb 16 January 1984 vol 52 c67W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many special passports for each of Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man have been issued in each of the last five years; what is the income from each; and what is the estimated cost of producing and issuing passports for each island.

Mr. Mellor

The number of full passports issued in each of the islands in each of the last five years is as follows:

Guernsey Jersey Isle of Man

1980 2,728 5,799 2,118
1981 2,879 5,809 2,446
1982 2,496 5,348 2,029
1983 2,432 5,182 1,800
Total 12,978 27,415 9,862

The costs of production of, and revenue from, the issue of these passports fall to the islands concerned and not the United Kingdom Exchequer.
