§ Dr. Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish the information relating to the financial years 1983–84 and 1984–85 contained in table 2.18.2 of Cmnd. 9143-II in cost terms consistent with the same years in table 1.14 of Cmnd. 9143-I.
§ Mr. Patrick JenkinThe cash figures for 1983–84 and 1984–85 in table 2.18.2 of Cmnd. 9143-II can be converted to cost terms (base year 1982–83) by dividing by 1.05 and 1.1025 respectively. These factors are based on the assumption that the GPD deflator increases by some 5 per cent. in 1983–84 and 1984–85, as stated in the Autumn Statement 1983, paragraph 1.48.
