asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what statements in the last month he has made about the unlikelihood of a united Ireland in the foreseeable future.

During a BBC radio programme on 31 January I repeated my view that the consent of a majority of the people of Northern Ireland to Irish unity is not likely to be forthcoming within the forseeable future.
