asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if there will be any further call on public funds arising from the legal action involving the Minister responsible for sport, Mr. Peter Lawson and the Central Council of Physical Recreation.

Under an agreement made in 1972 the Central Council of Physical Recreation is largely funded by the Sports Council, which is a grant-aided body. The two councils are discussing whether under that agreement the Sports Council should meet CCPR's legal costs. This is a matter for them.
