§ Mr. Proctorasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he is satisfied with the policies and operation of all the United Nations agencies involving United Kingdom funding; what investigation is being, or has been, held by his Department into how United Kingdom funds are spent by these bodies; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. WhitneyWhile much of the work of the United Nations agencies has our strong support, there are naturally also areas where we would prefer to see different policies pursued. The various Whitehall Departments responsible for our relations with particular agencies participate actively in their policy-making and monitor and, where necessary, seek to improve the management of their programmes.
