asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the funding of the National Health Service in Lothian region.

The allocation to Lothian health board in the current year for hospital and community health services, including the locally managed capital programme, was just under £200 million.

An announcement about allocations to individual boards for 1984–85 will be made shortly.
