asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many troops, other than those serving with the United Nations and within the sovereign bases, the United Kingdom, being a guarantor power, has presently in Cyprus.

Mr. Stanley

There are no British troops currently stationed in Cyprus other than the British contingent serving with UNFICYP and those located in the sovereign base areas and the associated retained sites, apart from the defence adviser and his staff serving with the British high commission in Nicosia.
