§ Mr. Hayesasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the projected cost to the Treasury of index-linked pensions for 1984.
§ Mr. Hayhoe[pursuant to his reply, 9 Feburary 1984, c. 741.]: The estimated cost of index-linked pensions in 1983–84, including both state retirement pensions and the main public service occupational schemes, is £18,807 million.
Provision for the cost of pensions in 1984–85 will be included in the Supply estimates, to be published on Budget day.
