§ Mr. Jannerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he last carried out an analysis of information required for ethnic monitoring of the Departments for which he is responsible; and whether he proposes to take steps within those Departments to comply with the monitoring provisions of the Commission for Racial Equality's code on ethnic monitoring.
§ Mr. Hayhoe[pursuant to his reply, 9 February 1984, c. 739.]: The Inland Revenue, the Department for National Savings, Her Majesty's Stationery Office and Her Majesty's Customs and Excise are currently taking part in the surveys of the ethnic origins of non-industrial civil servants in the north west and the county of Avon, as I announced on 24 March 1983 at c. 461. I will consider further action, in consultation with my colleagues, in the light of the results of these surveys.
