§ Mr. George Robertsonasked the Secretary of State for Defence what is, for the last 12 months available, the amount spent by his Department on advertisements in (a) newspapers, (b) television and (c) radio on recruitment to the armed forces.
§ Mr. LeeThe amounts spent by the Ministry of Defence, and by the Central Office of Information on our behalf, on advertising for recruitment to the armed forces for the year ended 31 December 1983 were approximately:
- Newspapers— £3,867,000
- Television— £3,700
- Radio— £18,000
