Mr. Fisher

asked the Secretary of State for Defence which royal ordnance factories will be organised at vesting day in each of the subsidiary companies covering (a) ammunition, (b) small arms, (c) rocket motors and (d) weapons and vehicles.

Mr. Pattie

The present intention is that on vesting day the grouping of Royal ordnance factories within the subsidiary companies will be as follows:

Ammunition group

  • ROF Birtley
  • ROF Blackburn
  • ROF Chorley
  • ROF Glascoed
  • ROF Patricroft

Rocket motors group

  • ROF Bishopton
  • ROF Bridgwater

Small arms group

  • RSAF Enfield
  • ROF Radway Green

Weapons and fighting vehicles group

  • ROF Leeds
  • ROF Nottingham

The resources and facilities from the R and D establishment at Westcott and the south site at Waltham Abbey, which as already announced are being transferred to the ROFs, will form part of the Rocket Motor Group.
