§ 56. Sir John Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Transport what request he has received from Essex county council to consider northward slip roads from M11 at Loughton; and what action has followed.
§ Mrs. ChalkerThe county surveyor wrote to my Department on 22 November 1983 asking that preliminary work should be authorised to study the need for these additional slip roads. At a meeting on 21 December he was told of our commitment to review the matter in the light of changing traffic patterns following the completion of the M25 round north-east London. My hon. Friend will recall that I gave him a similar undertaking in answer to his question on 11 July last. I hope to make our views known in autumn 1985, following a year of experience with the M25 open from the Dartford tunnel to the A1. —[Vol. 45, c. 595–6.]
