§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeAt 30 September 1983 there were 128 consultants (including senior Hospital Medical Officers with allowance) in the specialty of cardiology in England. Their distribution across regional health authorities is shown in the following table. In addition there are a number of consultant physicians with a special interest in cardiology, but details are not available centrally.
