asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he accepts the agreement between the Country Landowners Association and the National Farmers Union as an adequate basis for the reform of agricultural tenancies.

Mr. Jopling

The 1981 agreement between the National Farmers Union and the Country Landowners Association forms the basis of the proposals contained in the Agricultural Holdings Bill, currently before Parliament. These proposals represent the best available option for halting the erosion of the agricultural tenanted sector.
