asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the effects for British farmers investment plans of the delay in settling the European Economic Community budget.

Mr. Jopling

I recognise the uncertainty facing farmers at this time; but I believe they support Her Majesty's Government's efforts to secure a settlement that is wholly fair to the United Kingdom.
