asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, if he will make it his policy not to approve school reorganisation proposals if they make no provision for single sex education.

My right hon. Friend's policy is set out in paragraph 5 of circular 4/82. He takes account of that policy when he considers the individual merits of the proposals before him.
