§ 16. Mr. Colin Shepherdasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on trends in volume of output in manufacturing.
§ Mr. TebbitThe upward trend in the volume of output in manufacturing is continuing. In the three months to November 1983 manufacturing output was ½ per cent. higher than in the previous three months and 2 per cent. higher than in the same three months of 1982. Yesterday's CBI survey results strogly suggest that manufacturing output will continue to improve over the coming months.
