HC Deb 20 December 1984 vol 70 c304W
65. Mr. Hardy

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what health risks exist as a result of the recent deposition of asbestos on a substantial area of South Yorkshire; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John Patten

I understand that effective measures are under way to clear up the asbestos and the level of asbestos fibres in air measured in the area is very low. In the circumstances, the health risk to anyone is negligible.
