HC Deb 20 December 1984 vol 70 c304W
Mr. Coombs

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps he is taking to promote the role in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis of the control of diet; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John Patten

Rheumatoid disease embraces a variety of conditions in relation to which diet can be an important factor. More specifically, research thus far has failed to establish any clear evidence to show that food allergies are a contributory factor in rheumatoid arthritis.
