§ 29. Mr. Franksasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what steps he is taking to encourage trade in invisible exports.
§ Mr. FletcherThe invisibles sectors make an indispensable contribution to the balance of payments and to employment. To help their development, we shall continue to press internationally, and in particular in the European Community and the GATT, for the removal of restrictions which affect British invisible trade in foreign markets.
I strongly support the promotional work of the British Invisible Exports Council and the British Tourist Authority at home and abroad. The British Overseas Trade Board has recently reviewed its assistance to service sector exporters, and will seek to improve it.
