HC Deb 11 December 1984 vol 69 c455W
Rev. Martin Smyth

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what checks are applied by Customs and Excise officers at British ports on the export of dead foetal material; whether there is a specific customs classification for such material; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hayhoe

As there is no legislation prohibiting or restricting the exportation of human foetal material Her Majesty's Customs and Excise have no authority to impose controls and do not do so. There is no specific customs classification for such material.
