HC Deb 11 December 1984 vol 69 c440W
69. Mr. Phillip Oppenheim

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is satisfied with the work done by the Vic Hallam Company on building houses for his Department in the Falkland Islands.

Sir George Young

The Vic Hallam Company is currently providing prefabricated living accommodation for the new RAF camp at Mount Pleasant. The company is sub-contractor to the main contractor, the Laing-Mowlem-Amey Roadstone Construction joint venture. Responsibility for the satisfactory completion of this accommodation rests with the main contractor and I am satisfied that it can meet the specifications laid down in its contract.
