HC Deb 25 April 1984 vol 58 c529W
Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment, further to his reply to the hon. Member for Liverpool, Riverside, on 1 November 1983, Official Report, column 336, if he is satisfied with the progress of the redevelopment of Liverpool Lime street station; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Patrick Jenkin

I am pleased to say that the main works to the station are going forward well. I said in my answer of 1 November 1983 at column336 that substantial completion of works to the concourse was expected in time for the opening of the International Garden Festival. We expect this timetable to be met. Fitting out of the new building will continue into the autumn.

Work on the adjacent car park and the private sector development of Lime Street chambers is less advanced and is likely to continue well into 1985.
