HC Deb 11 April 1984 vol 58 cc217-8W
Sir Gerard Vaughan

asked the Prime Minister if she has yet received the 14th report of the Review Body in Doctors' and Dentists' remuneration.

The Prime Minister

No.

Sir Gerard Vaughan

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the progress being made in reducing the hours worked by junior doctors, she will ask the Review Body on Doctors' and Dentists' remuneration to remunerate consultants for additional work they will in consequence be undertaking.

The Prime Minister

In their evidence to the Doctors and Dentists Review Body the Government have set out their plans for reducing the hours worked by junior doctors. So far there is no evidence that progress in this direction is creating extra work for consultants.
