Mr. Barnett

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the waiting period for training opportunities scheme carpentry courses at each of the London skillcentres.

The average waiting period for applicants to enter carpentry and joinery courses at each of the London skillcentres is set out in the following table.

Provision for all courses under the training opportunities scheme is reviewed regularly taking into account the expected demand for trainees from employers and the need not to undermine industry's own responsibility for funding training.
