§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether there are circumstances in which aircraft of the Royal Air Force or United States air force flying in United Kingdom airspace at night are permitted to do so without lights.
§ Mr. LeeMilitary aircraft flying in United Kingdom airspace are normally required to display navigation and anti-collision lights between sunset and sunrise. Exemptions from this regulation are granted on a very occasional basis, in response to specific operational or training needs, and are subject to the most rigorous control to ensure that air safety is maintained.
