Mr. Michael Forsyth

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list the statutory powers under which he is authorised to make payments of any kind to non-Government bodies, including individuals, the total amount paid under each such statutory power in 1982–83 and the number of staff involved in making such payments.

I regret that this information could be suppliedonly at disproportionate cost. However, my hon. Friend will find some particulars of statutory powers, and amounts paid, in the Appropriation Accounts for 1982–83 which were recently ordered by Parliament to be published. The appropriate Votes for Welsh Office expenditure are as follows:
