§ Mr. George Robertsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how much has been spent by his Department on publicity in the last 12 months in the following campaigns (a) "Fit for Life", (b) "Go for Goals", (c) smoking.
§ Mr. John MacKayExpenditure of this kind is not undertaken directly by my Department. In the year ended 547W 31 March 1983 the Scottish health education group spent £310,532 on its "Go for Goals" campaign and £230,560 on other smoking and health publicity. It did not incur any expenditure on the "Fit for Life" campaign: information about any expenditure on that campaign by the Scottish sports council or local authorities may be obtained from these bodies.
