§ Mr. Geraint Howellsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many times he has paid official visits to Wales since May 1979; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerThe Secretary of State for Wales is of course responsible for agriculture in Wales, and throughout the last four years he and I have had close liaison on all matters concerned with Welsh agriculture. I have frequently met Welsh farm leaders and held regular meetings with the chairman of the Agricultural Advisory Panel for Wales. In 1982 I visited dairies in the Llandyrnog area and I am currently considering an invitation to visit the Pembrokeshire branch of the National Farmers Union.
