§ Mr. Arnoldasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to his answer of 26 April, Official Report, c. 301, what are the diplomatic functions of Bank of England officials attached to British missions overseas; and to what extent such staff are responsible to the head of the mission concerned.
§ Mr. HurdThe main diplomatic function of these officials is to report on and represent British interests in discussion of financial and economic matters in the countries and organisations to which they are accredited. They are all fully responsible to their head of mission.
