asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will consider amending the relevant regulations so as to enable local environmental health inspectors to enter and inspect kitchens in hospitals for mentally handicapped persons.

Health authorities are expected to invite local authority environmental health departments to visit, inspect and report on all areas within their premises where food is stored, processed or consumed. There is no reason to believe that these arrangements are not working, and amendment of regulations is therefore unnecessary.
